Batik Style Pouffe Sewing Pattern
Posted To Guides By Fabric EditionsFriday, 10th August 2018A super effective batik design here from our friends over at Fabric Editions. The design is for a small pouffe (or pouf if you're joining us from the US), this is a great project if you have a spare full sized jelly roll you are looking to use up. There is a fair amount of sewing required in the design so the use of a sewing machine is very much advisable. We would class this as an intermediate level project. Finished pouffe measures approx 14" x 16".
Supplies Required
- 2 x 1 yard printed cotton designs (contrasting batik designs)
- 1 x full cotton jelly roll (bright batik designs)
- neutral sewing thread (100% polyester)
- heavy duty upholstery thread
- 100 oz of polyester stuffing or polystyrene balls
- 2 x galvanized washers (3/8")
- 2 x covered buttons
- 1 x extra long upholstery needle (12")
- basic sewing supplies
Instructions
This project is most effective when made from a wide variety of different batik fabrics, each of which should be bright and well contrasted to the other fabrics used. Due to the number of different designs required it is likely that a full sized jelly roll would be the most efficient choice for this project. Of course you can always adapt the fabrics used and really make this project your own. Be sure to share your creation with us on-line via any one of our social media pages.
