Fine Glitter Fabric In A4 Sheets

These fabric sheets have relatively good flexibility as the glitter is fine and well finished. The glitter effect does however reduce the fabrics drape somewhat. The resulting sheet has the same approximate flexibility as a couple of sheets of plain paper.

It is 100% cotton fabric with a layer of adhesive & glitter mix over one side. Some would describe this fabric as a leatherette, you could sew with this but it would be better suited to sticking / gluing it down.

The glitter is very strongly affixed to the fabric. Having tested the glitter with a cool machine wash there was no visible loss.

This item certainly can be sewn much like a thick fabric. The glitter finish makes for quite a ridged final sheet which would likely be more suited to sticking / gluing however.

I would think this will be fine, the glitter is very well attached so the chances of loose glitter getting everywhere would be minimal.

In this case it would be possible to sew a number cut from this to a T-shirt. The glitter sheets are quite thick, like a thin leather or leatherette which may effect the T-shirt somewhat. I should state although the glitter is well stuck to the sheets it is inevitable that the occasional piece will come off.

Although we have not tested these glitter fabrics with a machine embroider they are made using standard cotton fabric.

The glitter does make the fabric a little thicker but the result is no thicker than a heavy weight canvas or very thin leatherette.

Therefore I would not foresee any major problems with this type of use.

I can confirm that this would be a perfect use for these glitter sheets as they are exactly the right thickness & firmness for this sort of thing. I also know many of our customers use this very item to make bows.

Pressing / ironing should not be a problem with this fabric as it is essentially a cotton canvas with a layer of glitter glued to one side. Although the glitter does make the cotton a little thicker than normal it is still no thicker than a heavy cotton canvas or drill. Maybe a little extra time will be needed to fully press the seams.

I would say that the thickness is much like a thin card. Therefore, although it would hang over the edge it would likely not be 100% butted up against the shelf like you would get from a natural cotton fabric.
